Is the AUS efficient to break all type of foam?

The AUS defoaming ability is considerably stronger when the foam or froth to break is dry, characterized by large bubbles, and by low viscosity. With dry or airy foams the ultrasonic effect is faster and the defoaming volume may actually be larger.

Example of dry foam are found in seafood processing, food processing in brines, beer fermenters, filling lines of carbonated beverage, gasoil, pharma products etc. In these cases the AUS may be very efficient.

Foams where the AUS is less appropriate are: thick foams (like shaving foam), foams with very high viscosity, and foams wherein the ratio gas/liquid is low.

What is the energy consumption of the AUS?

The AUS is a very low consumption device: about 500 watts.

Any of the customized ultrasonic prototypes we developed have usually a very low energy consumption. This is an eco-friendly technology.

Is there any distributor outside Europe?

No, PUSONICS Spain should be contacted directly for any of your requirements.

Is there any catalogue of product?

You can find technical information on the Airborne Ultrasonic System in the specification sheet (Click to see Technical Data of the AUS). Please contact us for prices, which can vary depending on the specific operation conditions, and required adaptations.

Where is the AUS technology already installed?

Our customers usually require confidentiality, for this reason we cannot provide much information on the plants where the AUS has been installed or where R&D projects have been carried out. However you can refer to our section “Testimonials” to check the satisfaction of our customers.

Is the transducer available in several dimensions (diameter)?

There are two standard dimensions for the stepped-plate transducer of the AUS: 393 mm diameter (working at 26kHz) and 480 mm diameter (working at 21kHz). Any other dimension or frequency should be scaled/developed within a R&D Project aimed at complying with specific requirements.

Is it necessary to use safety procedures to work with the AUS?

Safety procedures for the protection of personnel are similar to those used for audible noise. To ensure that ambient sound pressure levels do not exceed the recommended maximum permissible exposure level, operators of the AUS will need to keep one meter away from the transducer device and be equipped with hearing protectors giving an average of 30 dB of noise reduction, whilst the system is functioning.

Is it possible to rent the AUS?

Yes, it is possible to rent the AUS so you can check the suitability for your specific problem or applications.

In which applications has been successfully used Pusonics technology?

Pusonics technology (AUS and other tailored devices) has been successfully tested mainly in Defoaming processes (dry and low viscosity foams), Degassing, Agglomeration and precipitation of fine particles, Food Drying, etc
